Feiringen markerer starten på det hinduistiske nyåret Navsamvatsar 2078 i henhold til Luni-solkalenderen.
Luni kalenderen brukes av hinduer i hele verden. I kalenderen er månedene basert på syklusen av månens faser.
Chaitra Navratri / Vasanta Navratri
Hvert år feires Chaitra Navratri etter begynnelsen på våren, som er i mars/ april. Det er en ni-dagers festival, som begynner på den første dagen i den hinduistiske Luni-Solar-kalenderen.
I år begynner Chaitra Navratri / Vasanta Navratri i dag, den 13. april 2021 og varer frem til den 22. april 2021. Festivalen feirer de ni formene til gudinnen Shakti. En av festivalens viktigste dager, Rama Navami/ Rama Navratri, er den 21. april 2021.
Vaiskhi festival begynner også imorgen 13.april.

The celebrations mark the start of the Hindu New Year, Navsamvatsar 2078 as per the Luni-Solar calendar.
The Luni calendar is used by the Hindu`s all over the world. In a Luni calendar the months are based on the regular cycle of the moon´s phases.
Chaitra Navratri
Every year, Chaitra Navratri is celebrated after the spring-time harvest, which is in either March/April.
It is a nine-day festival, which begins on the first day of the Hindu Luni-Solar calendar. This year Chaitra Navratri /Vasant Navratri begins on April 13, 2021, and ends on April 22, 2021.
The festival celebrates the nine forms of Goddess Shakti. One of the most important days of the festival, Rama Navami or Rama Navratri, falls on 21st April, 2021.
Vaisakhi festival also falls tomorrow 13th April.
